Following in the footsteps of a fellow teacher friend of mine, I decided to host a Kinder-Camp. Students came in with their parents for a few hours the week before school. This took the edge off of the actual first day of school. I read some stories, we did a craft, took a tour of the school, and did a little writing.
Almost ready!
As all teachers do, I spent a lot of time getting the classroom ready after the painting was completed. I tried to stick with colors that I won't have to change for a while, but nothing too busy.

New class
After teaching First grade for 8 years, I will be moving to Kindergarten and I could not be more thrilled! Not only that, I will be teaching in a new school, but fortunately I will be with teachers that I have taught with for many many years! I am excited for the new adventure, but looking forward to keeping in contact with old colleagues as well.
So I will be doing a lot of work on this very old classroom this summer. Summer Beak?...Not this year. At least I have a nice big space to work with.
